Healthy Eating

School Meals

Our meals are provided by Catering Services. The meals offered are nutritious and fresh produce is used. The menus are posted in advance. Payment for meals must be made in advance, either by cash or cheque which should be made out to Cheshire West and Chester Council. Payment can also be made through the school's Parentmail payment system.

Correct payment should be put in a sealed envelope with your child's name and class number on.  If your child is absent, a credit will be made.  If you think your child is eligible for free school meals, please collect the necessary form from the school office.

Bringing food to school

Children who do not have a school meal may bring a packed lunch. This should be in a secure container labelled with their name. Appropriate food hygiene precautions should be taken e.g. ice pack.  Drinking water is available in school. If children bring their own drinks then these should be in safe container such as plastic flask or bottle and not in cans or glass bottles. No fizzy drinks or sweets, please. If your child forgets their packed lunch, school will try to contact you, but if unable to do so your child will be provided with a school lunch and you will be asked to reimburse the school.

You may like your child to have a midmorning snack.  We welcome fruit and vegetables, but NOT sweets, chocolate, crisps or gum.  The School Cook provides healthy morning snacks for very a reasonable cost.

KS1 children are provided with fruit every afternoon.

Please respect our policy on healthy eating and dental care!  We appreciate your support in our achievements towards maintaining a Healthy School Status.
